industrial frequencies 3
it is interesting to see how the term "industrial" has mutated over the years. on this sampler you would not find something that has been called "industrial" two or three years ago, instead you are presented with the "best of" from the power electronics and rhythm'n'noise genre.
if you have been following the scene in 1999, you undoubtedly have heard 90 percent of the material on this cd. "seven" has reviewed almost all of the acts presented here, and over half of the bands made it to our top 10. therefore an educated listener would not find anything new on this cd, but it is a superb introduction to the genre for anyone that is willing to take the step. orkus is known for putting out excellent compilations, and this one is a perfect example, especially compared with recent samplers from other labels.
the lineup speaks for itself: winterkalte, synapscape, mlada fronta, nkvd, starfish pool, hypnoskull, dive, eisengrau, converter, noisex… the tracks on this cd are original versions from almost all of the best releases of 1999.
the bands that are not as well-known include siechtum, yendri (both licensed from trinity), marita schreck (licensed from bcr), and peak (that also appeared on "not made by industry II" compilation; licensed from zoth ommog); all of them keep up with the famous peers making a great addition to this compilation.
if you feel like enlightening your friends and relatives or just starting out on bright and shiny path of noisy music, this is definitely the cd to pick up.
