Imminent Starvation opens this release with an exclusive track entitled "the powder of ibn-ghazi." Here Olivier Moreau attacks us with swirling atmospherics built on echoing rhythmic and abrasive percussives that swallow you with density and power.
The next track, "improvised duet #2" by James Plotkin & Tamara Goukassova pulls you into dark ambient soundscapes that turn around the listener with disturbing textures of subtle stretching violins & massive drones that rise and build to colossal proportions.
The third track, "luscious world", from the Eyeless in Gaza allures us with beautiful voicescapes embedded over soft thick atmospheres. The next track, "Distance In", provided by Rapoon, gives us a taste of repetitious fast tribal ambience. Track five, "Voxy Musi", provided by Eletronicat pushes pulsating fried power noise elements that build intense atmosphere.
Sonar changes the pace with a driving mechanical beats and abrasive phases with its strong track "Sway-live." Seven ,Ab ovo's "verba" relays ever-building melodic strings with variables in mind. Norscq presents a broodingly dark ambient passage entitled "Treize."
On track nine ("mot dag") Origami Republika gives us depressing yet insightful dark ambience that utilizes consistent drones, environmental organic samples & subtle symphonic loops. Mozul conveys ambience through layered voice effects and intensities on the track "Her Voice." Track eleven, "brinnan", by Troum gives us another interpretation of dark ambience with slowly creeping atmospheres. We close out this comp with another track by Eyeless in Gaza entitled "Immersed Eerie Physical" that conveys a nice isolated atmospheric feel to it.
