exoskeleton II
This 2-disk compilation starts out with Telepherique's "Intelstat I-V Generation", it's a good mellow introduction track that could have been beamed directly from the Intelstat. NKVD provides a killer track that is both ominous and crushing, definitely a band to watch. Hypnoskull is like Orbital being processed by over mind of ant-zen, noisy yet oddly it's very danceable.
Jugend Staat attacks with a distinctive track, they show potential here, but I need to hear more to be certain. Winterkalte brings us the track "incinerator" and this is where you feel you are located, this track would is also danceable and appropriate for the club.
Pain Konsept track is the only thing on this comp resembling ebm; too many guitars for my taste, but still it showed promise, too bad it's a broken one. KTOW brings us a track that reminds me of cold meat industry, definitely in the butcher's backyard - harsh, dark and frightening.
the ah cama-sotz track is somewhat repetitive but still kicks my ass. Converter has one of the harshest tracks on the disk, still a little repetitive also but perhaps this is the point. Finally, Dryft (yet another side project of gridlock together with Under and Paste) is atmospheric music genetically grafted onto harsh drum'n'bass, interesting…
Overall, this compilation is a great mix of styles with something for almost everyone that likes their music noisy.
