electronic lust v.2

v/a (1999)

compilation time, once again. this time it is a two-disk set from famous “orkus” magazine. some of the mixes and unreleased tracks are rather unusual for the bands. artists represented vary from industrial, to noise, from intelligent drum’n’bass to techno. all the songs on the album really deserve attention. i would like to mention nice and almost harsh (!) mix of “less” by haujobb. it is quite different from the album version (or any of ep versions). velvet acid christ contributes quite interesting song (“suicide picnic” - 1995) that could easily be placed on “neuralblastoma” disk. noisex presented unreleased “it hurts!” – nice and noisey as expected (along the lines of “ignarrogance”); die form with less evil remix of “dr.x”; cleen with great remix of “freak” – minimalistic and beautiful.

the techno side of the disk is represented with panacea – rather harsh and interesting techno (or is it trance? i am not good at those labels), ultraviolence is presented with “dark room” – a typical digital hardcore: fast and almost danceable. pain station and converter are really getting popular – they both are represented on the album with unreleased mixes of “shock front” and “domination v. 3”.

one of the main reasons i bought the cd is the second disk – 42-minute track by substanz t (the band that really gets more and more media attention these days). “hypnotizing low vibrating frequences” shows another side of substanz t – a live ambient-like performance - the music that really creates a unique atmosphere. definitely worth listening to.

this is the cd for those of you interested in collecting rare and unreleased material. these exclusive tracks and really nice mixes will make your collection complete. however, if you are trying to get the idea how this or that band sounds like, do not count on this cd.
