This release is packaged in a simple transparent plastic sleeve with distorted pictures of the evening this project is focused on. Patrick Stevens experiments with raw sound environments taken within one evening on the streets of Sint-niklaas, Belguim, put together previously within two evenings at escape3. Moving away from the trance-induced harsh beats of hypnoskull and Sonaeact, Stevens works with actual soundscapes environments and simple atmospheric noisescapes utilizing more traditional and raw sounds, keeping closer to a very experimental edge unlike very organized and contained compositions of Hypnoskull. Exploring lo-fi structures ant their interaction with bleak atmospheres, idling beats, opaque sound clusters, flanged transitions, static charges, phaselines, and bleak scourges of various raw sound devices. A pleasant surprise to hear another side to Stevens, but I'm still not sure what we are getting at with this one. Hopefully this will grow stronger on me later.
