I got my hands on this cd after I heard this band's track on counterintelligence compilation. this cd is not quite what I have expected, but I guess several years separating those tracks will make a difference.

on this cd the band presents the soft side of experimental music. the songs are filled with intricate percussion that resembles drum'n'bass, sometimes slightly distorted beats are introduced; the delicate synths back the melody creating overall warm feeling with a slight edge created by complex and intriguing percussion.

my favorite tracks include "spectral reach (scannered)" that features constant slightly distorted beat that drives the melody through the hallways filled with soft electronics. "what I have discovered" is another interesting track with interesting fast-paced complex percussion and ultra-happy electronics - a very interesting combination.

overall - this is a great relaxing cd with some complexity and edge that will barely keep you from slipping into happy bliss. the combination of great drum programming and soft melodies should be pleasing to any fan of complex melodic percussive arrangements.
