one thing
in this installment, pulse legion adds more dance-oriented, beat-heavy stylization to the music. This is a side step from the last release "evolve", less industrial and more trance and electro elements are apparent. John Rickers voxx are in the same region as his earlier material, but with more emphasis and range. And of course there's another beautiful track with female voxx by Amanda Jones: "torn within". The use of resonance and frequency loops seems to be predominant throughout most of the album.
Tracks such as "out from in me", "despair" and "one thing" seem to be the strongest on the album and best for the club floor. Emphasized floor-crushing percussive units laced with controlled synth loops and solid bass and string pulses are used throughout on these tracks leaning on more trance-like states in composition. If there is any comparison I could make for pulse legion sound, it would have to be a mesh between fla, abcess and index, but only with small elements of each band for pulse legion has definitely developed their own signature sound.
"panic", the last track, winds down the entire cd with a repetitious electro-dance loop that might be a little too long for my taste but does not affect the album on an entire basis. I personally feel that "evolve" is still a stronger release, but this album definitely has its strong points, especially for the club floor.
