lustmord (1991)
anton · September 28, 1999

this is the material recorded by lustmord between 80 and 83, featuring john balance of coil and additional voices by nigel ayers of nocturnal emissions, and nigel dunster. fully matching its title, "early experimentations" are abrasive, noisy, fucked up sound manipulations (what lustmord is famous for). yet another one of those "classics" that only a true researcher, eclectic snob, or obsessive collector might appreciate. on the second thought, this is where it all came from, and the spirit of experimentation is still alive; records like that should only inspire modern musicians. listening to the tracks carefully you will be amazed at how much alike the noisy experimental sound of today resembles this early lustmord.

the quote that perfectly descibes the disk, "all recordings were made at excessive noise threshholds, indeed it should be noted that n. dunster's ears bled during the e.m.s sessions". you have been warned.
