kiss the shadow
I was a bit skeptic after hearing live version of "kiss your shadow" several months ago, but apparently that version of the track is quite different from the cd.
dennis is back with the single that contains 4 versions of the title track and one new song. "kiss the shadow" is quite a lot more beat-heavy than previous band material (something that I mistakenly took for being lighter dancy sound during their live set). the excellent sequencing is still present as well as recognizable isc vocals. the atmosphere of the track is not as passionate and moving as earlier material presenting more aggressive and solid sound. das ich pleasantly surprised me with their remix, changing the song quite a lot adding richer orchestrated elements. two other mixes present more stripped-down club-friendly "extended version" and richer and softer "french kiss" version of the song.
as quite a surprise came "love will never be the same" featuring nice female vocals done by nadine stelzer. the track itself is a soft melodic piece with pleasant, light synth lines and excellent programming.
overall, this seems to be the step to more conventional sound, but dennis is still keeping the core of dark melodic isc intact.
