pink one
this little rare and timeless gem gives a nice quick overall look into the various styles of the mata then and some of what is still there in this musician’s work to this day. six tracks that show six sides of the creature of the surf. on side one, "protocol" pounds out dirging heavy bass rhythms that phase and tweak with immense abrasive qualities that hypnotize the mind momentarily. "outline" induces a very introspective and dark streamlined string patch that is paced with nice subtle beats. "m.marvel" gives a very quick punch of powerful distorted breaks.
on side two, "evelyn#1" provides distant and cold string pads that are accompanied by mild broken drum’n’bass elements. and "frau towcmlfe" ends with phantasmic bleak strings arrangements that are eluded by somewhat disturbing thoughts of another distant human being. a nice peak into the young and alluring mind of the mata.
