mauver
Packaged in an ultra cool white card sleeve with and embossed braille logo, a delicate computer rendering of a biosynthetic looking insect, and a small Bola insert card.
On the first track "mauver", we are introduced with attacking meanderings of guest vocalist Dennis Bourne that paces quickly with soft spacey ambient textures, phase loops, echoes, and subtle percussives.
The second track, "Para Qweqway" moves along with a nice rhythmic piece that is submerged with beautiful string elements and textures. Next we engage an erratic and somewhat funky track entitled "Spybex." Here we explore an array of blips, drips, phases, synthetic textures and sample manipulations that bounce against each other throughout; a nice fun track in the Skam tradition.
The last track "Vespers" carries on a spacey dark ambient feels much like off his previous release "Soup," exploring more subtle layering of beautiful and melodic string elements and atmospherics. A nice snack for what's to come from this brilliant director of sound.
