another world

following recent recommendations by disease factory posted on his website, I got my hands on this latest offering from astral projection. quite impressed by "dancing galaxy" that pretty much changed my opinion about goa and trance, I was not all that excited about this release. being a bit too repetitive in comparison with "dancing galaxy", "another world" could still be considered an intelligent and interesting trance.

"another world" has everything that you need from the genre - mysterious alien worlds, catchy as hell light clean sequences, fast prominent beats, sweet melodies that however keep the edge that makes the cd worth listening. developing the themes of supernatural, the compositions constantly introduce new elements and remain fresh, avoiding repetitiveness that most of the similar bands fall into. high-bpm and plenty of variations layered on top of steady beat will keep any dancefloor maniac happy, while snobbish idm fans will not be disappointed finding rich variety of loops, jumpy sequences and other subtle details.

"searching for ufos" and "mahadeva '99" are my favorite tracks on the disk that best represent its atmopshere.

looking for something beyond synthpop or searching for interesting, clean, fast-paced light music that will not get you scoffed by your hardcore rivethead friends - "another world" is a good candidate for that.
