beautiful people
this ammo release is tongue-in-cheek collage of piled-up samples, mass of broken fast-paced breakbeats, and layers and layers of various disarranged sound elements. its atmosphere is almost goofy, strikingly different from eerie “kaleinoscope.” it is too short to be viewed as a landmark work, but it works great when viewed as very witty interpretation of overloaded information landscape, filled with cut up popular programming. I am glad how they approached this idea, instead of heavy-handed moralizing, they played around with all those sound sources, twisting them around to match high-speed gabber or bulldozing breakcore, briefly venturing out in the world introduced by “kaleinoscope.”
the design concept behind this record (done by bombthedot) is something worth mention separately – it has two sides (ladies and gentlemen), both containing two tracks created of various cut up samples masterfully blended with piled up barraged of broken beats. each side of the little 7” sleeve has a fitting designs reflecting this idea.
overall, I would recommend this to pretty much anyone; I am sure there is enough of diversity on this release to appeal to breakcore fans and glitch addicts. plus you should really view it as a collectors item, especially considering all the people involved in making of this record.
