this is the third demo tape released by radial - an experimental creation of matt bambach. the demo consists of five tracks and could be loosely classified as noise. the music presented has strong percussion roots and each song on the demo has something peculiar and interesting.
however, the tracks seem to be a collection of experimentations and sound manipulations rather than cohesive songs - the sound elements change suddenly, breaking the harmony and leaving the listener with feeling of discomfort. sound elements taken by themselves outside of the context of the song remind of cazzodio's crunchiness or converter's ambience, but mixed together they lose originality.
"tribulation" is the track that clearly stands out and is rather enjoyable despite its repetitiveness - it is built on contrasts of soft and gentle keys and rough percussion, creating mesmerizing and unique atmosphere. definitely recommended. the rest of the demo is not nearly as solid as this track, but potential is visible.
